Into the West: cooking parties


Excuse me for my prolonged absence for the past month, I was all caught up in my final exams and didn’t have time to breathe at all. Yet I still managed to eat 24/7  (which means more photos of food porn later) and whenever I told my friends “I’m hungry!”, someone would always say “You’re always hungry, Ashley” and rolled their eyes. So there we go. Here’s a peek of my coping-with-finals method and post-final celebration: EAT. Both involved a big cooking party at my friend Mo’s place on the West Island. For the picture above, the dinner was actually meant to be for four girls. Luckily more allies joined us to finish most of the food.

Post finals celebration: went all the way to the West for barbeque! (+ video games + shooting around with toy guns)


Secret of a good barbeque: Honey.


Maybe it’s a Hong Kong thing to do, but whenever we do barbeque, we would put honey on top of everything aka squid balls, beef balls, chicken wings etc
1. spread the honey on both side of whatever you’re grilling when it’s almost cooked 2. grill for a bit longer 3. top it with more honey again. 4. freshly grilled squid balls/beef balls/chicken wings with a smoky and sweet aroma that you can’t resist

I’m currently back to Hong Kong (HEAVEN OF FOOD) for the rest of summer so stay tuned for more updates! I’ll be going around everywhere hunting down all the good food with my friends and taking cooking lessons from my mum. I can already tell this is going to be an awesome summer ;)
