How to Make Cashew Milk from Blue Print Cleanse

sniff sniff * what’s this?

Remember the Juice Cleanse that I did with BluePrint Cleanse program in January and the bottle of cashew milk that I fell in love with? I finally made my homemade cashew milk based on the recipe made by Brett Bara and it’s absolutely delicious! Since I have a Magic Bullet Single Shot and I can’t put too much water in, I moderated the recipe a bit. I also adjusted the sweetness to my taste by cutting down on the agave.

The BluePrint Cleanse Twin-like Cashew Milk (Ashy’s version):
1 serving

1 cup organic raw cashew
2 cups water (you can add up to 2 cups more if you want the milk to be thinner)
1 teaspoon  pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon  cinnamon
2 tablespoon agave
(cup as in measuring cup!)

1. Soak cashews in water for 6 hours or until they are soft

2. Blend cashews and water in a blender until smooth. If the cashew is soft enough, they should be 90% smoothly blended and have some nutty bits left.

3. Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon and agave. Brett Bara recommends 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, ginger and cardamom each if you want to make it a Chai Cashew Milk!

4. Serve in your favourite glass. Enjoy!

Notes: You can make this cashew milk the night before and save it for breakfast the next day. It takes off your craving for snacks or if you’re like me, those Starbucks cravings…. And for those who live in Montreal, I bought the organic cashew ($7.4 for a pack, can be used for making 2 servings of cashew milk) from Eden supermarket on Avenue du Parc and agave ($5) from David’s Tea.

I swear this is as good as the real BPC Cashew Milk. Making your homemade one only costs around $4 so it definitely saves up a lot of money!
