You know you go to cafes too much when people start calling you “coffee shop girl”! Going to cafes is one of my favourite things to do in Montreal and there are tons of cafes in the McGill neighborhood. Pikolo Expresso Bar is my favourite among all of them. Their pastries, latte and london fog are the best! Jaye and I went there for a study/music sesh this Monday. I spent the whole afternoon studying for finals while he was listening to music on his ipod. We ordered orange chocolate scone (I could taste the orange zest in it!), banana chocolate bread and some tea and it was a very nice afternoon treat. Pikolo also bake their pastries freshly in store and the smell of the buttery cookies were almost too hard to resist (I spent the entire minute staring at the tray of cookies from upstairs…). Pikolo has been my (not so) secret study spot since it opened two summers ago. The only downside is that it’s usually really packed and it’s a bit hard to find a seat. So it’s best to go there early in the morning or late afternoon. There’s also a cute stamp store next door that I’ve yet to visit!
